Clear!!

During the revamping of the TY, we got an interesting rust removal tip from an unlikely source. What you see here is the new gas tank for the Yamaha filled with water and baking soda (not sure about the amount of either). With the tank filled, Captain hooks the ground from a battery charger to the tank, and hooks the positive to a piece of wire dangling into the tank. Sounds pretty interesting. Although the new tank had only light rust, we decided to give this experiment a try. We were told this method would reverse the rusting process. Who gave us this electrical advice....Menonite Mike! How cool is that?

I heard it only works if you hold your tongue on the positive battery lead and hook the negative to your ...oh never mind.
