Guns n' Fun

Here we have a cave in secluded Woodbury, Tennessee. The picture does the cave no justice, but at the time I was breathing too hard to care about what the picture looked like. It was a very beautiful setting but took a little work to get down to the front of the cave (very steep & deep ravine). One helluva charlie horse and cramping, but everyone survived. This scene followed up a day of 4 wheelers & a small arsenal consisting of a .45 glock, 30.06 rifle, .22 rifle, 12 gauge, 9mm revolver, & a double barrel shotgun that had to be 6 foot long much like Jed Clampett's. Thanks to Mark & his father for the fun afternoon. Slept well that evening.

Switching subjects, anyone wanting to bowl with us, come on out to the strike & spare on Charlotte Pike @ approx 4:30 - 7:00.

Phoenix Bowling Night Feb. 15 & 22

Sorry about these scores being so late. from what I remember, this was a very interesting night. A Chucky Cheese must have opened up in the lanes next to us because there were kids crawling everywhere. That didn't seem to bother anybody but you do have to watch your beer and make sure there's no Power Rangers in it before you take a swig. Congrats to Patsy for nearly breaking the century mark. Now on to this week....

Pretty decent scores this week but the thing that sticks out like a sore thumb to me happened in the second game. Mr. Don took us to the woodshed with a huge 156 game. I'll try to update this blog a little more frequently. Last week being very hectic & my cold kept me from from the computer most of the week, not to mention my profile was updated from "Nashville, Tennessee" to "Smyrna, Tennessee". That' right, Smyrna's pride & joy is back home!

Phoenix Bowling Night - 2/09/06

Here we have the Phoenix crew (bus' Bunch) showing a little heart in donating to Big Brothers Big Sisters. If you click on the image you can see the names of your favorite Phoenix Bowlers that you have been rooting for all year. Not trying to pat myself on the back, but a "atta boy" was in order for Bus' Bunch. Now on to the scores....

Three bowlers attended this special one time event, Thursday Night Bowling. Wednesday night bowling conflicted with Captain's birthday party. When we arrived & went to the counter to pay for the bowling, manager guy said that lane #1 was hot. I thought we would prove him wrong but no, there were some above average scores coming from lane 1.

An extra feature to lane 1 was the easy access to the juke box for Big A to pump his money into. A wide range of tune were being played. Everything from "In The Jailhouse Now - The Soggy Bottom Boys" to "Right Thurr - Chingy" to "Against the Wind - Bob Seger". The kids at the other end of the bowling alley weren't dancing to the The Soggy Bottom Boys.

They unveiled a new beer at the lanes last night. For anyone who likes the Michelob Ultra beer, you may want to give the new Michelob Ultra Amber a try. Not quite a Lion Stout, but still pretty tasty.

Special thanks to The One for my best series ever.

Phoenix Bowling Night - 2/1/06

It was an interesting night at the lanes this week. With Captain at the house working on project #2, Patsy working late, and Special K assisting the fine folks in New Orleans opening a Stien Mart, we had to pick up the slack. Bowling at a blistering pace, Bus' Bunch bowled 5 hard fought matches in 2 hours. It is very tough to gain the proper buzz while continuously bowling. It may look like I had a very solid buzz by the 5th game, but actually I was trying something new I witnessed Monday night, a high backswing & trying to get more rotations on my ball. Probably the equivalent of John Smoltz deciding in the eighth inning to develop a knuckle ball because he thought it looked cool. The Curtis household (Bus & Karen Ann) cleaned house in the strike & spare poker game and "allegedly" were later seen at the Morton's Steakhouse spending their winnings. Next week I'm predicting a better turn out preventing another marathon bowling night.

Better Never Than Late

Nobody panic, I found the scores from last week, which feels like a month ago. Not a bad showing for "Bus' Bunch". The captain was experimenting with a new throw in his second game , the two fisted throw it as hard as you can throw. Until time springs ahead, we will be continuing to bowl on Wednesdays after work (from approx 4:30 - 7:00) at the Hillwood Strike and Spare. Feel free to stop in & get a piping hot cheeseburger & fries or maybe even bowl with us. I'll try to post this week's scores in a more timely fashion.
